ooc: going off the assumption that syzoth ended up on deep space nine due to canon-usual science shenanigans. if you need me to change anything shoot me a PM! ]
[ The new stranger had caught Garak's keen eye from the moment that he arrived through mysterious circumstances. Yes, they could get him back, it was only matter of time and getting all the calculations just right. Science took so long in his experience and he might as well entertain the handsome young man before anyone else managed to do so. That thankfully had led to them having some lovely tea!
He lead the way to the small cafe with it's tiny selection of tables near to the replimat and offered the chair across from him for Syzoth to join him. ]
Now, tell me, you know my trade is tailoring, but I don't believe that I've learned yours!
(OOC: Sounds about right. Syzoth's can has magic and science shenanigans so that absolutely checks out.)
[Syzoth slid into the chair and settled. His arrival at the...space station had been unexpected, but he was thankful his knowledge of multiple Realms kept him from being terribly troubled. He was sure between the various scientists and Liu Kang's ability to see across Realms...he would not be trapped there for long.
He canted his head to the side and smiled.]
Well, I haven't shared it...but I dabble in many things. I suppose the most basic way of saying it is that I'm something of a mercenary. I retrieve lost things...obtain information...that sort of thing.
[ He held up one hand, palm up, in a 'say no more' sort of way. ]
I completely understand, my dear. You need not say a word.
[ They were interrupted for their orders to be taken. Garak decided on a sweeter tea than usual. He waited patiently for his handsome friend to finish ordering before continuing. ]
And what about in way of hobbies. Do you read, by chance?
[ Oh a compliment on his politeness! Possibly the second best way to flirt with a Cardassian. He's not taking it personally, though, not yet. There's still plenty of water to test.
The topic of books! Now that's one that lights him up immediately. ]
Of course I must suggest the Never Ending Sacrifice. It's core to Cardassian literature studies. And really to understanding Cardassia as she is today.
I shall have to look into it. I'm afraid I'm not familiar at all with Cardassian culture...though the same can be said for many throughout the Realms. There are really so many different kinds of people out there living different kinds of lives. I certainly don't envy the gods trying to keep up with it all. They have their work cut out for them. I am glad that there is literature out there that enables me to see things from points of view I am unfamiliar with.
[He gestured around.]
Zaterrans don't have anything like this. Most of my people keep to themselves on the outskirts of Outworld....living a simple life as their ancestors did. Many look down on them for that...consider them "lesser" by whatever lens they choose to look through. That we're little more than primitive savages. Naturally, I disagree.
Exactly! You've been nothing but an absolute gentleman since the moment you arrived.
[ His instinct was to debate, but one had to find the right thing to debate about. Most people, he found, didn't like to entertain the what-ifs even for the sake of healthy debate. No, another topic perhaps. ]
But the idea you don't have cafes! That's criminal.
I'm glad I've been a pleasant visitor. Although...
[He paused as their tea arrived and he thanked the server. He poured himself a cup of his green tea and held it in his hands, enjoying its warmth and he made a pleased trill in the back of his throat.]
I'm not exactly a glowing example of a Zaterran....not typically, anyway. Thankfully, though, due to my...gift...I have been able to visit many cafes.
[One of the benefits of shifting into a human form and learning the ways of other races.]

[ His grin was wide and knowing, almost as if he was teasing him. An in joke that only he seemed to be in on. ]
Who do you work for? Your government? Private sector?
no subject
I suppose it does, doesn't it?
[In many ways, he absolutely is. Syzoth's abilities lend themselves quite well to that kind of work.]
Presently? Private sector. My works requires a certain amount of discretion. I'm sure you understand.

[Syzoth smiled pleasantly and gave his order. A green tea, naturally.]
Yes, though not as much as I would like, though I am always open to suggestions.
